Khabre.in is a general-interest news and explanatory publication. This policy describes information that may be processed during use of the site.
Information collected automatically
Web servers and delivery networks necessarily receive technical information required to deliver a page, which can include an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information and related security or diagnostic data. Server logs may be retained for security, reliability, abuse prevention and operational troubleshooting.
First-party traffic analytics
Khabre.in uses a self-hosted, cookieless first-party analytics service to measure aggregate traffic, visits and page views. The browser sends analytics requests only to Khabre.in; the service does not use analytics cookies and is operated on Khabre's own infrastructure.
Google Analytics
Khabre.in also uses Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-NS2VE84D85 for comparison and additional measurement when analytics consent is granted. Google Consent Mode v2 is configured before the Google tag loads. By default, analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are denied.
Selecting Accept analytics grants only analytics_storage. Advertising-related consent signals remain denied. Selecting Necessary only leaves analytics storage denied. In Google's advanced Consent Mode, limited cookieless measurement signals may still be sent when storage consent is denied; optional analytics cookies are not intentionally enabled without analytics consent.
Cookie consent and local preferences
The cookie-consent choice is stored locally in the browser under the key khabre_consent_v2. Some anonymous recommendation preferences may also remain in the browser.
Reader accounts and social sign-in
Khabre may offer reader accounts using Google or Apple sign-in. Authentication is handled by the provider; Khabre does not receive or store Google or Apple passwords. Khabre stores a pseudonymous linker derived from the provider's stable account identifier so the same reader can be recognised on a later visit. Khabre does not need to retain provider access or refresh tokens for ordinary reader features.
If the provider supplies a verified email address, Khabre stores it for account and communication features. Email values are encrypted at rest with a server-held key kept outside the website code and public files. Khabre does not require a public real name or provider profile photograph. A signed-in reader chooses a public handle before using public identity features such as comments.
Email and marketing consent
A reader account or stored email address does not by itself enable marketing. Account or service messages may be sent when necessary for requested features. Marketing, promotional or editorial-highlight emails require a separate opt-in. That choice can be withdrawn from the reader account page.
Likes, saved articles and recommendations
Signed-in readers can like articles and save favourites across devices. If personalised recommendations are enabled, explicit actions such as likes and saves may contribute coarse topic weights used to select relevant articles. The system keeps raw recommendation events only for a limited period and exposes a control to clear the recommendation profile by disabling personalisation.
Khabre does not intentionally create inferred long-term health-condition profiles from likes or saves on health articles. Account-linked recommendation data is kept separate from Google Analytics identifiers.
Anonymous first-party engagement measurement
Selecting Accept analytics permits Khabre to record limited first-party engagement events such as article/card views, article opens, approximate reading duration and completion, likes, shares and swipe-away actions. The collector uses a temporary per-tab session identifier and stores no name, email address or permanent user identifier. Raw events are retained for a limited operational period and are aggregated into article-level signals used by the recommendation system.
Amazon affiliate links and country routing
Some product articles may contain Amazon affiliate links. Khabre.in may earn a commission from qualifying purchases without increasing the price paid by the reader.
To choose between Amazon India and Amazon.com, the page may use a coarse country code inferred from the visitor's IP address by the site's delivery network. The page JavaScript uses only the country result for link selection; it does not need to receive or store the visitor's precise IP address for this purpose. Affiliate tracking identifiers are applied by the site's configured link-routing logic.
Following an Amazon or other retailer link leaves Khabre.in, after which the retailer's privacy, cookie and account policies apply.
Comments and moderation
Submitted comments are stored with their article relationship, pseudonymous reader relationship, public handle and moderation status. Comment text and limited article context may be processed by an automated moderation service before publication. Moderation requests are designed not to include email addresses, social-provider identifiers or analytics identifiers. Uncertain or higher-risk comments may be held for manual review, and published comments may later be suppressed by a moderator.
Data sharing
Khabre.in does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate, secure, measure or deliver the site, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect the site and its users.
Privacy choices
Google Analytics and first-party recommendation engagement measurement can be rejected from the consent banner or changed later through Cookie settings in the footer. The self-hosted cookieless traffic analytics service does not use analytics cookies. Browser controls can also delete or block stored cookies and local storage.
Signed-in readers can manage marketing consent, disable personalised recommendations, view saved articles and recommendation interests, sign out, and delete their reader account. Account deletion can either remove the reader's comments or retain them with the reader identity removed and the public attribution changed to "Deleted reader".
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as Khabre.in adds new features, measurement tools, advertising or affiliate relationships. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
