UK Plans AI Biosecurity Lab with Up to £300m in Backing
The UK government plans to establish an independent, non-profit AI Biosecurity Lab, backed by £100 million in government funding and up to £200 million in company commitments. Its initial goals are to improve early detection of biological threats and speed work on medical countermeasures.
