Amazon has announced five Alexa home devices, including an Echo Show 16 with a 16-inch display, a smart clock with sleep-sensing alarms and an Alexa-enabled photo frame. The lineup also adds new Echo speaker models.
Amazon has announced five new Alexa devices for the home: Echo Dot, Echo Studio with Home Camera, Echo Time, Alexa Photo Frame and Echo Show 16. The products add smart-home controls, room-aware camera features and display options to the Echo range. Amazon lists prices from $99.99, with some models shipping today and Echo Show 16 available for preorder.
Five devices for different parts of the home
The new Echo Dot adds a built-in smart-home hub for connecting compatible devices such as lights, locks and thermostats. Amazon says its custom AZ3 chip includes an AI accelerator for on-device processing that improves conversational detection and filters background noise. The speaker also includes an eero Wi-Fi extender, which Amazon says can add up to 1,000 square feet of coverage to an existing network. It ships for $99.99; Kids versions, which include a year of Amazon Kids+, cost $109.99.
Echo Studio with Home Camera combines a speaker with a camera that can give Alexa visual context. Amazon describes uses such as identifying a cereal box to help reorder it, explaining a board game from its packaging and checking a room through the Alexa app. The standard Echo Studio is listed at $219.99; the camera-equipped version is $249.99 and ships today. Amazon says compatible Fire TVs will soon be able to pair with the camera-equipped speaker for video calls on a television.
Echo Time is a camera-free bedside clock with a customizable display. Its Omnisense-powered sleep-sensing feature is designed to detect lighter sleep and sound an alarm 10 to 60 minutes before the scheduled time. The display gradually brightens and the alarm tone builds as the wake-up time approaches. Amazon says the device has earned the National Sleep Foundation’s SleepMark for meeting evidence-based sleep standards. Echo Time costs $199.99, while the Kids version with a year of Amazon Kids+ costs $209.99.
Alexa Photo Frame has a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen and connects to Amazon Photos, where images sync automatically. Amazon says Alexa can select photos to display and respond to requests for pictures of a person, pet or trip. The announcement does not give a price for the frame.
The Echo Show 16 has a 16-inch display, built-in Fire TV and customizable Screen Styles for calendars, household tasks, photos or smart-home controls. Its Alexa Home Map presents connected devices in a map of the home. Amazon says the display is nearly 40% thinner than its predecessor and offers 10% more viewing area; an optional Nanomatte finish is said to cut glare by more than 90%. The camera adds auto-framing and night vision. Preorders start at $499.99, or $569.99 for the Nanomatte version. Amazon lists a $100 preorder discount.
Alexa runs across the lineup
Amazon says all five devices use the latest version of Alexa, which can hold more natural conversations, ask clarifying questions and coordinate information across sources for multi-step requests. On Echo Show 16, Alexa can also present generated visual content and organize conversations into Cards that can be continued across Echo devices, the Alexa app or Alexa.com. Amazon notes that certain features require Alexa+, which is included with a Prime membership.
Together, the announcements extend Alexa across speakers, a bedside clock, a photo display and a large-screen smart-home hub. The devices pair familiar functions—alarms, photos, audio and home controls—with newer software features such as visual context and on-device AI processing.
