Summary
Apple announced AI assistants for Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers, alongside new image-editing, video and music tools across Creator Studio. The assistants are in beta, with availability and device requirements that vary by app.
Apple has announced a broad update to Apple Creator Studio, adding beta AI assistants to Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers, plus new image, video and music-production tools. The company says the updates will be available on the App Store in November as a free update for existing subscribers.
The AI features are not one common assistant spanning every app. In Keynote, Pages and Numbers, an assistant built on Apple models and OpenAI is designed to work with the document in front of it. Logic Pro for Mac gets a separate beta assistant powered by a combination of Apple-built and third-party models.
AI features are tied to the app and its content
Apple says the assistants in Keynote, Pages and Numbers can use document context to help with work inside those apps: refining slides in Keynote, drafting or restructuring text in Pages, and organising or visualising data in Numbers. In Numbers, the assistant can also recommend chart types and preview them, or build custom tables using world knowledge.
The three productivity apps will also support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing external AI agents and tools to read content, make edits and carry out automated actions. MCP support requires macOS 27 or later. The assistants are in beta and available in U.S. English; they require an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later.
Logic Pro’s assistant is for Mac and is also in beta. Apple describes it as a way to navigate production workflows, start a song, set up a vocal track from a prompt or refine a project. It requires macOS 27 Golden Gate or later on an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac, and is available in U.S. English.
New tools connect image, video and music workflows
Pixelmator Pro adds Generate Fill, which lets users select an area of an image and describe a change in natural language. Apple says the tool matches the surrounding lighting, perspective and texture; generated material can be added as a new layer or merged into existing layers. In Final Cut Pro for Mac, editors can open a timeline image in Pixelmator Pro and save changes back to the project without reimporting it.
Final Cut Pro for Mac also gains built-in MotionVFX content, including templates, titles, transitions and tools for tasks such as tracking and colour grading. Its Content Hub adds Apple-curated stock video, photos and backgrounds. The update also brings 23 additional transcription languages and more control over keyframe easing. Apple says Logic Pro’s Stem Splitter will be able to isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts without the original multitrack recordings. Its redesigned Mac Browser brings sounds and instruments together and uses on-device audio analysis to classify and tag added sounds.
Apple lists the new Creator Studio updates for November. New subscriptions cost US$12.99 per month or US$129 per year, with a one-month free trial; the company also lists education pricing of US$2.99 per month or US$29.99 per year. The announced assistant features have specific language and operating-system requirements, so access will depend on the app, device and software version.
