Summary
Apple has announced a smart-home lineup developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, bringing cameras, a doorbell, a smart lock, thermostats and sensors into Apple Home. The company says the accessories can be set up and managed through Apple’s Home app without a separate app or account.
Apple announced Apple Home Collection on October 13, 2026, a lineup of smart-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. It includes four LG cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, thermostats from both partners, and temperature and humidity sensors. Apple says the products can be added to Apple Home with a tap on an iPhone and managed through the Home app, without a separate app or account.
The announcement extends Apple’s smart-home offering from support for third-party accessories to a recommended collection designed to work together. The devices can also be used individually. Apple says availability begins in December, with select accessories starting in early 2027.

A curated range for Apple Home
Apple Home has supported third-party accessories through Works with Apple Home and Matter certification. The new collection is a more integrated selection: LG supplies the cameras, doorbell and lock, while LG and Schneider Electric each supply a thermostat. The products share setup and control through Apple Home and Siri, rather than requiring customers to manage a separate companion app for each accessory.
The lineup is designed to connect household routines across devices. For example, Apple says a Home scene could adjust a thermostat, tilt an indoor camera and start music on a HomePod. Users can also configure automations around household members leaving or returning, such as locking the door and restarting camera monitoring when the last person leaves.
Monitoring, access and climate features
LG’s four cameras capture video at up to 2.5K resolution and can recognise people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages, according to Apple. The wired Video Doorbell has two cameras: a 2.5K front camera and a full HD camera aimed at packages. The Floodlight Cam has motion-triggered lights, while the Outdoor Cam offers low-light colour night vision. LG’s Indoor Cam can tilt to adjust its view and, Apple says, tilt down to stop monitoring when the first household member returns.
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband to detect an approaching user with a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch, allowing the door to unlock without a tap. It also has a keypad and a backup key slot. The lock can alert users if the door is open or has been tampered with, and guest access can be shared through the Home app. Apple says its core access functions operate locally, including when there is no internet connection.
The two thermostats use on-device intelligence from iPhone to adjust temperatures based on whether someone is home, winding down for the night or away. Separate room sensors can provide temperature and humidity readings across multiple rooms. In the contiguous United States, Apple’s Clean Energy Guidance can shift heating and cooling to cleaner or lower-cost periods for users with a compatible utility plan.
Connectivity, privacy and availability
All the accessories support Thread, which Apple says helps them maintain connectivity if Wi-Fi drops. The lock, thermostats and temperature and humidity sensors are Matter compatible. Matter is a smart-home interoperability standard; support can help compatible devices work across supported ecosystems, though features still depend on the device and system involved.
Apple says Home app data and camera footage are end-to-end encrypted and inaccessible to Apple, LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Footage can be processed on a customer’s Apple home hub or in Private Cloud Compute. Camera event history requires iCloud+ and is stored for 10 days; eligible plans also enable Apple Intelligence video descriptions and natural-language search. These camera features require compatible devices and an eligible plan, and the number of cameras supported varies by plan.
Apple says the collection will begin arriving in December, with select accessories following in early 2027. Listed U.S. starting prices include $199.95 for the LG Indoor Cam, $249.95 for the LG Video Doorbell, $399.95 for the LG Floodlight Cam and $349.95 for the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock. Both thermostats start at $199.95, while the LG Temperature Sensor and Schneider Home Room Sensor start at $39.95. Apple lists camera availability in the U.S., Canada and the UK; the lock and climate products are listed for the U.S. and Canada.
