ASUS announced the Googlebook 14 in a September 23, 2026 press release, describing it as its first laptop designed for Gemini Intelligence. The 14-inch model combines a lightweight chassis and high-resolution OLED touchscreen with Gemini features and links to supported Android phones. ASUS lists configurations up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processor, 64GB of memory and a 1TB SSD.
A lightweight laptop with a high-refresh OLED display
The Googlebook 14 starts at 0.99kg and measures as little as 10.9mm thick. ASUS says its CNC-machined magnesium-aluminium chassis uses Nano Ceramic Technology to help resist scratches, stains and abrasion. The company also says the laptop was tested against MIL-STD 810H and ASUS durability standards. The press release describes the military-standard testing as laboratory-based and says it is not an indication of fitness for military use.
The 14-inch touchscreen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, 3K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. ASUS specifies peak HDR brightness of up to 1,000 nits and says the screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Matte anti-glare technology. A six-speaker system includes dual force-cancelling woofers and two tweeters. The haptic touchpad uses six-point force sensing, while the backlit keyboard has 1.5mm key travel.
Other listed specifications include up to 64GB of LPDDR5X memory, up to a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and a 70Wh battery. ASUS rates battery life at up to 18 hours, noting that actual runtime varies with usage, configuration, applications and environment.
Gemini features and Android connections
ASUS describes Gemini Intelligence as a way to get assistance within everyday tasks. Its examples include Magic Pointer, which lets users select onscreen items and ask Gemini to compare or create with them, and proactive suggestions based on what is displayed. The company says Gemini can also surface relevant details from emails, recall calendar information and suggest actions. These features require an internet connection or have availability, age, language and usage conditions; some higher usage may require a subscription.
With setup, the laptop can work with supported Android devices running Android 17 or above. ASUS says users can continue a task from a phone on the laptop or cast phone apps to its screen. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1b, a headphone-combination jack and Wi-Fi 7.
ASUS also lists 12 months of Google AI Pro and 5TB of cloud storage with the device, but the promotion has specific conditions. It is for eligible users who purchase and activate an eligible Googlebook on or after October 1, 2026, in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States. The offer must be redeemed by March 31, 2027; after the trial, the stated charge is $19.99 per month or the then-current subscription fee, subject to the offer terms.
