Summary

BMW Motorrad has announced the F 450 RR, a 420 cc supersport motorcycle rated at 35 kW (48 hp) and weighing 177 kg ready to ride. It combines a six-speed gearbox and supersport-specific chassis with four equipment variants.

BMW Motorrad announced the F 450 RR on 15 October 2026 as a 420 cc supersport motorcycle for the 48-hp class. The company specifies an output of 35 kW (48 hp) at 8,750 rpm, maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm and a ready-to-ride weight of 177 kg. The bike is designed for winding roads and racetrack use, with a chassis and riding position distinct from the F 450 GS that shares its engine.

Engine and chassis for the supersport format

The fuel-injected parallel-twin produces up to 80 percent of its maximum torque at 3,000 rpm, according to BMW. Its 135-degree crankpin offset creates uneven firing intervals, shaping the engine’s power delivery and sound; a balance shaft is intended to reduce vibration. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission and a left-side chain drive.

BMW says the 35 kW output places the motorcycle within Europe’s A2 licence power limit without requiring a later reduction. The company gives fuel consumption as 3.8 litres per 100 km under the WMTC test cycle and says the 14-litre tank provides a calculated range of more than 350 km.

The F 450 RR uses a tubular steel frame, with the engine serving as a load-bearing element. Its supersport setup includes 17-inch wheels, a 43 mm KYB upside-down front fork and an aluminium rear swingarm. Sport suspension, included on the Sport and M Sport variants, adds adjustable rebound and compression damping to the front fork. The front brake uses a 310 mm disc and a Brembo four-piston caliper.

Rider assistance and equipment variants

Rain, Road and Race riding modes are standard, as are ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, Dynamic Traction Control and engine drag torque control. ABS Pro supports ABS-assisted braking when leaned over. Shift Assistant Pro, which enables clutch-free upshifts and downshifts, is included on all variants except the Base model, where it can be added later.

The F 450 RR is offered as Base, Sport, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package. Sport adds Shift Assistant Pro and Sport suspension; M Sport also includes Riding Modes Pro, which adds a configurable Race Pro mode. The Innovation Package adds the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC). BMW says the ERC uses a centrifugal unit to engage the clutch according to engine speed, and can be retrofitted to the other variants as an accessory. With it, ready-to-ride weight rises to 178 kg.

A 6.5-inch TFT display, LED lighting, heated grips and a USB-C port are standard. The seat height is 790 mm, with accessory seats that can raise it by 20 mm or lower it by 15 mm. BMW has not included pricing or market-specific sales details in the announcement.
