Google’s Gemini help documentation describes Call for Me, a feature that lets eligible Pixel 11 users ask Gemini to call US businesses for everyday tasks. Examples include checking business hours or product availability, requesting a service quote, and booking or managing an appointment or reservation. Google says the feature is being made available gradually to eligible users.

How Call for Me handles a task

The user describes what they want Gemini to do, with relevant details such as dates, times, preferences or alternatives. Gemini then presents a summary that includes the number it plans to call and information it will share, such as the user’s name and contact details. The user can revise the task before tapping Call for me to start the call.

Gemini can navigate phone menus and wait on hold. At the start of each call, it identifies itself as a Google AI assistant calling on the user’s behalf and says the call is being recorded. After the call, the user receives a notification and can review Gemini’s outcome summary. The full transcript and a recording are available in the Phone app’s call history.

The call can also be monitored while it is happening, through a live transcript or audio. The microphone is muted by default. If the user taps Take over, the microphone is unmuted; Gemini announces the handover and leaves the call.

Eligibility and limits

Google lists several requirements: users must be at least 18 and in the US, have a Pixel 11 with a US SIM, be signed in to the Gemini mobile app and have a Google AI subscription. The phone must also have the Public Beta version of the Phone by Google app, the latest Gemini app and English set as its device language. For now, Gemini can call only US phone numbers.

Calls use the phone’s mobile network and number, so standard carrier rates apply. Google also sets daily call limits. The feature cannot make emergency calls, complete financial transactions, share sensitive information such as passwords or health details, or be used for telemarketing.
