Summary
The U.S. CPSC says the left temple of INMO Air3 smart glasses can overheat during extended use. Owners should stop using them and contact INMO for a free repair involving an online update to system version V3.16.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of INMO AIR3 smart glasses on September 24, 2026, after the company received 10 reports of the glasses overheating. Some reports included a burning sensation on the face and the left side of the ear. The CPSC says the left temple can overheat during extended use, creating a risk of serious injury or death from burns.
The recall covers about 1,643 units in the United States; the CPSC says about 120 more were sold in Canada. The remedy is a free repair: INMO will assist owners with updating the glasses online to system version V3.16.
How to identify the recalled glasses
The affected product is the INMO AIR3, a black pair of smart glasses used for AI translation, AI-assisted productivity and media streaming. “AIR3” and “INMO” are printed on a label on the right temple. The model number is AIR3.
The glasses were sold online through Amazon.com, Inmoxr.com and Kickstarter.com from December 2025 to August 2026, for between US$900 and US$1,300. INMO International Technology Limited, of China, is the importer; the products were manufactured in China.
What owners should do
The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled glasses immediately and contact INMO for the free repair. The company can be reached at 888-212-9620, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time, or by email at [email protected]. INMO’s recall page is at inmoxr.com/pages/recall; select “Product Recalls” for information.
The recall identifies extended use as the circumstance in which overheating can occur. Owners should follow the stop-use instruction and arrange the specified repair rather than continuing to wear the glasses.
