A new hybrid system and longer electric journeys

A plug-in hybrid such as the 450h+ combines an engine and electric drive with a battery that can be charged externally, allowing some journeys to be completed using electric power. The release does not provide the battery capacity, charging time or charging-power specifications.
For the 350h prototype, Lexus lists system output of 140–180 kW and a 0–100 km/h time of 7.1–7.8 seconds. The figures vary according to specification, and the company notes that regional equipment and specifications may differ.
Dimensions, driving hardware and cabin design
The new NX measures 4,690 mm long, 1,865 mm wide and 1,660 mm high, with a 2,690 mm wheelbase. Lexus marks the length as 30 mm greater than the previous model, while the width, height and wheelbase are shown as unchanged. Listed curb weights range from 1,690 kg to 2,130 kg, depending on the version.
Lexus says the vehicle uses a next-generation platform and has undergone structural and chassis refinement to combine sportier driving with a comfortable ride. The release also identifies a front e-Axle and power-control unit among the vehicle technology shown in its supporting materials, but does not provide detailed engineering specifications for those components.
The exterior adopts a more dynamic appearance, while the cabin uses a simple, horizontal layout intended to create a more open atmosphere. A feature called Sensory Concierge coordinates personalised cabin illumination and fragrance. Lexus presents it as a way for occupants to adjust the atmosphere to their preferences, rather than as a performance or safety system.
