Summary
Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO ZNG in India, a turbocharged CNG-petrol SUV priced from ₹9.99 lakh ex-showroom. The company says it produces the same 82 kW and 200 Nm in either fuel mode.
Mahindra launched the XUV 3XO ZNG in India on 15 October 2026, with ex-showroom prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh. The company describes it as its first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle. Its turbocharged engine is specified to produce the same 82 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque on CNG and petrol, pairing dual-fuel operation with a claimed certified efficiency of 24.7 km/kg.
Turbocharged power in CNG and petrol modes
The XUV 3XO ZNG uses a 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi turbocharged engine. Mahindra says the engine’s calibration and ECU mapping maintain the same power and torque figures whichever fuel is being used. The 200 Nm torque is available from 1,500 to 3,500 rpm.
The company reports a 0–60 km/h time of 4.9 seconds and a 0–100 km/h time of 11.8 seconds in CNG mode. It also describes the vehicle’s 10-bar CNG injection-pressure system as a first for the segment. These are manufacturer-supplied specifications and performance figures.
Drivers can switch between CNG and petrol, with the vehicle automatically changing to petrol when the CNG supply runs low. Mahindra says the system is designed to combine the lower running costs associated with CNG with the performance of the turbocharged engine.
Packaging, safety and prices
The CNG system uses two cylinders beneath the luggage area. Mahindra says this layout leaves a flat loading floor and 270 litres of usable boot space, while the spare wheel is mounted under the body. The company also lists an NGV fast-filling valve and average and instantaneous fuel-economy displays.
All XUV 3XO ZNG variants include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts, according to Mahindra. The vehicle also has gas-leak detection that can trigger an automatic switch to petrol. Mahindra says the ZNG is built on the existing XUV 3XO, which has a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection; the announcement describes the ZNG as engineered for a five-star rating, rather than reporting a separate Bharat NCAP result for this version.
The four announced variants are priced at ₹9.99 lakh for MX Edge, ₹10.79 lakh for REVX Edge (O), ₹11.19 lakh for AX5 and ₹12.27 lakh for REVX A, all ex-showroom. Test drives began on 15 October 2026. Bookings and deliveries are scheduled to begin on 20 October through authorised dealerships and Mahindra’s online channel.
