Summary
Mahindra says its Charge_iN network now has 50 live locations and 200 charging points across India. Its first station under a collaboration with HPCL is operating on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway.
Mahindra announced on 24 September 2026 that its Charge_iN public electric-vehicle charging network had reached 50 live locations and 200 live charging points across India. The latest site, at HP Auto Care Centre, Sajgaon, Pune – Expressway, is the network’s first to become operational under a collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
A new site on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway
Mahindra and HPCL announced their agreement in March 2026 to develop EV charging infrastructure at HPCL retail outlets across India. The Sajgaon site is the first operating station under that arrangement; Mahindra says other stations under the collaboration are at different stages of development and construction.
The location puts a Charge_iN station on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, a major inter-city route. Mahindra says its stations are placed along key highway corridors and alongside wayside amenities such as restaurants and cafés. The HPCL partnership offers a route for adding charging sites at existing fuel retail locations, with further deployment still in progress.
Charger specifications and access
Charge_iN stations use 180 kW dual-gun chargers, according to Mahindra. The network is open to EV owners across brands through the Charge_iN by Mahindra app, the Me4U app and leading aggregator platforms. Mahindra says access through the HP eCharge app is planned for the future.
The company says its Electric Origin SUVs—the XEV 9e, BE 6 SPORTEQ and XEV 9S—can charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes at these stations under standard test conditions. That is a company-stated figure for those models, not a general charging-time estimate for every vehicle using the network. Actual time can vary with factors including battery charge level, battery and ambient temperature, charger output and other operating conditions. The 180 kW figure describes charger power; the power a vehicle receives during a session can vary.
Mahindra separately says its EV owners can use approximately 35,000 public charging points across different charge-point operators through the Me4U app, including HP eCharge stations. That wider figure covers access to other operators’ infrastructure as well as Mahindra’s own network.
Mahindra’s next network target
Mahindra says it plans to expand Charge_iN to 250 stations, with approximately 1,000 charging points, by December 2027. The target is a planned scale-up, distinct from the 50 live locations and 200 live points the company reported on 24 September 2026.
