Mercedes-Benz has opened orders in Germany for the C 300 4MATIC electric, the second all-wheel-drive model in the company’s new electric C-Class range. The sedan combines a usable 85 kWh lithium-ion battery with a claimed WLTP range of up to 690 kilometres and a peak output of 310 kW.
German prices start at €52,900 excluding VAT for business customers and €62,951 including VAT for private customers. The listed prices exclude delivery or factory-collection costs. Mercedes-Benz also cites a private-customer leasing offer from €449 per month, based on a 20% special lease payment, a 36-month term and total mileage of 45,000 kilometres.
Range, charging and drivetrain
The C 300 4MATIC electric uses an 800-volt electrical architecture and supports DC charging at up to 320 kW. Mercedes-Benz lists a 10–80% DC charging time of 22 minutes when using a compatible high-current charging station. Under the company’s stated WLTP charging conditions, a 10-minute session can add up to 290 kilometres of range.
The car has electric motors at the front and rear, producing up to 310 kW and 800 Nm of peak torque. Mercedes-Benz quotes 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 210 km/h. The electric 4MATIC system can engage all-wheel drive when needed, while the company says this operating strategy helps preserve range.
A new one-box braking system combines regenerative and conventional braking functions. It can recover energy even during ABS intervention or on an icy road, according to Mercedes-Benz. The company states that up to 99% of braking events can take place without using the conventional friction brakes, with regenerative braking capable of up to 300 kW.
The quoted combined energy consumption is 17.8–14.1 kWh per 100 km under the WLTP test procedure, with combined CO₂ emissions of 0 g/km and a WLTP CO₂ class of A. Mercedes-Benz lists the range as 549–690 km in its model table; the upper figure applies to the C 300 4MATIC electric under the relevant configuration and test conditions.
Equipment, practicality and assistance systems
The C 300 4MATIC electric has a 470-litre luggage compartment and a 101-litre front storage compartment. Its maximum braked towing capacity is 1,800 kg. Optional equipment includes AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering. Mercedes-Benz says the latter can reduce the turning circle and improve precision and stability at higher speeds.
Inside, the model can be equipped with a 99.3-centimetre, or 39.1-inch, MBUX Hyperscreen. The system runs on Mercedes-Benz Operating System, or MB.OS, and supports the company’s MBUX Virtual Assistant. The vehicle can also receive selected software-based Digital Extras through the Mercedes-Benz Store or app. Mercedes-Benz says the current entertainment portfolio includes more than 40 applications across audio, video, gaming and other services.
Standard assistance equipment includes DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST. Optional MB.DRIVE Assist adds lane-keeping assistance and can support lane changes outside built-up areas. Mercedes-Benz describes this as SAE Level 2 assistance, meaning the driver remains responsible for supervising the vehicle. Availability of individual assistance and digital features depends on the vehicle configuration and market.
The quoted range and charging figures are test-cycle results. Mercedes-Benz notes that real-world range can vary with driving style, weather, battery ageing, climate control, tyres, optional equipment, payload and route conditions. The 10-minute charging figure was measured using maximum DC charging power under the conditions specified by ISO/SAE 12906.
