Summary
Samsung has launched the Infinite One-Way Cassette AC in VRF and commercial split configurations in India. It adds nine ambient-light modes, WindFree cooling and built-in SmartThings connectivity.
Samsung has launched its Infinite One-Way Cassette AC for premium residential and commercial spaces in India. The ceiling cassette combines nine ambient-light modes with WindFree cooling and built-in Wi-Fi for SmartThings control. Samsung lists it in both variable refrigerant flow (VRF) and commercial split configurations, with capacities ranging from 2.8 kW to 7.1 kW depending on configuration.
Lighting and draft-reduced cooling
The AC’s Ambient Edge Lighting is designed to make the indoor unit part of a room’s lighting scheme. Its nine modes draw on the natural day-night cycle: warm, natural and cool light are each offered at high and low intensity, alongside a setting that automatically adjusts brightness. Samsung presents the modes as ways to tailor the room’s ambience at different times of day; they are lighting options, rather than a claim that the AC changes the body’s circadian rhythm.
For cooling, Samsung has used its Wide WindFree system, with a panel twice as wide as the previous generation and an outlet that disperses air through micro-holes. The company says this spreads air more gently and evenly, aiming to reduce cold drafts and operating noise while improving energy efficiency. The announcement does not provide comparative measurements for those effects.
The indoor unit has a stated depth of 13.8 cm and an exterior made from acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), which Samsung describes as UV-resistant and durable.
Configurations, controls and price
Samsung lists VRF models in 2.8 kW, 3.6 kW, 5.6 kW and 7.1 kW capacities. The commercial split (CAC) versions are listed at 3.5 kW, 5.2 kW and 7.1 kW. The range starts at ₹16,00,000, inclusive of GST, and is available through commercial AC channel partners nationwide.
Built-in Wi-Fi connects the unit to Samsung SmartThings without an additional module. The listed app functions include voice control, lighting adjustments, energy monitoring, usage patterns, Welcome Cooling, Pet Care and Personalised Cooling with AI Comfort Mode. The announcement names these functions but does not detail how the AI mode determines its settings.
The AC also includes a copper antibacterial filter. Samsung says the filter was tested under KS K 0693:2016 against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 4352 over 18 hours. The company’s test note specifies that the result applies to the filter unit, not to a particular AC model.
