SPECS has introduced SPECS Intelligence, a personal AI assistant designed to build an ongoing understanding of a user’s priorities, activities and goals. The company is inviting users to join a waitlist for early access on iPhone and Mac, and says SPECS AR Glasses will be optional rather than a requirement.
The assistant is intended to carry the same context across iPhone, Mac and SPECS glasses. SPECS describes it as a system that can anticipate useful next steps, organise information from different applications and surface relevant details before a user explicitly asks for them.
A proactive assistant across devices
SPECS positions Intelligence as different from an assistant that only responds to individual prompts. The company says it can learn about the people, priorities and goals that matter to a user, including a goal mentioned previously, and use that context in later interactions.
The proposed functions include preparing the next step in a task, finding information scattered across applications, drafting messages and summaries, and keeping work and personal information in separate areas. The product page also describes spaces for different parts of life, intended to keep unrelated information from appearing alongside the task being handled.
The assistant is designed to support actions without taking final control of them. SPECS says Intelligence can propose, prepare and draft, but it will not send a message, make a change or take another action until the user approves it. That approval step is central to the product’s interaction model: the assistant can assemble the material needed for a decision, while the user authorises the resulting action.
Privacy controls and early access
SPECS says Intelligence uses clear permissions so users can choose what information the system can access and when. The company says user data is encrypted and stored securely, while its secure services support features such as search, summaries and drafting. Meeting audio, according to the FAQ, is transcribed directly on the user’s device.
The company also says personal data is used to personalise Intelligence for the individual rather than to train AI models. Users can delete their data through Settings.
The FAQ says SPECS Intelligence is not yet available to everyone. The initial rollout is launching in the U.S. first on iOS and Mac, with a lighter preview available in the SPECS iOS app. SPECS AR Glasses are presented as an additional surface that can bring Intelligence into the surrounding environment, but they are not needed to begin using the service.
