Summary
Samsung says three teams from Chennai and Coimbatore have reached the Top 20 of Solve for Tomorrow 2026. Their projects apply AI and sensors to workplace training, road hazards and support for people with Parkinson’s.
Samsung has selected three teams from Chennai and Coimbatore among the 20 finalists in its Solve for Tomorrow 2026 programme. The teams—4 Percentage, JARVISS and Rogue—are developing AI-based concepts for worker training, road safety and support for people with Parkinson’s.
The announcement describes these as projects in development, not as solutions with reported performance results. Samsung says the finalists will receive mentorship to refine prototypes and prepare them for further validation and product development.
Three projects, three everyday problems
Short training videos for workers
Coimbatore team 4 Percentage is developing MicroLearning AI, which turns complex information into two-to-three-minute learning videos intended for delivery through WhatsApp in workers’ native languages. The team’s approach combines AI with a familiar messaging platform and regional-language content, with the aim of making workplace training easier to fit around factory and frontline work.
A phone-based warning system for road hazards
Chennai team JARVISS is working on SafePath AI. The proposed platform uses smartphone and Internet of Things (IoT) sensor data to detect potholes, waterlogged roads and other hazards, assess their severity and suggest safer routes. It is also being designed to alert relevant authorities about unsafe road conditions.
A wearable concept for Parkinson’s-related tremors
Chennai team Rogue is developing NeuroStride, an AI-powered wearable intended to distinguish involuntary Parkinson’s tremors from intentional muscle movement. The device is designed to provide targeted electrical stimulation to support more controlled movement. The project’s stated aim is to help people manage everyday activities with greater independence.
Mentorship and prototype funding
The three teams are among finalists selected from across India for the fifth edition of Solve for Tomorrow. Samsung says more than half of this year’s Top 20 participants come from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Each Top 20 team will receive INR 1 lakh for prototype development, and each participant will receive a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphone. The finalists will also receive mentorship from Samsung experts and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer at IIT Delhi, covering areas including prototype refinement, product development and scalability.
Four winning teams—one from each programme theme—are set to share INR 2 crore in incubation grants from Samsung through FITT-IIT Delhi. For the Tamil Nadu teams, the next stage is to develop and validate their concepts; the announcement does not report results from testing them.
