UK Biobank Study Finds Greater Structural Vulnerability in Basal Forebrain Ch4
A medRxiv preprint analysing 81,870 UK Biobank participants found that structural deviations with ageing and neurological disease were concentrated in the basal forebrain’s Ch4 compartment. The study also linked Ch4 deficits with later dementia and Parkinson’s disease diagnoses.
