MV Yampu begins operations as a battery-powered bulk carrier
CSL and Adbri have begun operations of MV Yampu, a 125-metre battery-powered self-unloading bulk carrier serving an Australian limestone route. Its batteries are recharged in port, enabling battery operation around 40% of the time, while the companies expect annual diesel use to fall by more than 500,000 litres.
