Eye Security says it sent 2 million updates to disable Popcorn Time’s updater
Eye Security says it used the abandoned Time4Popcorn update channel to disable its vulnerable updater on Windows and macOS systems, sending more than 2 million update downloads. The company estimates millions of systems were affected, but says duplicated client IDs make precise counts difficult.
