Phage susceptibility varies among bacteria in chronic cystic fibrosis lung infections
A bioRxiv preprint reports that bacteria sampled from chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa lung infections in people with cystic fibrosis differed in susceptibility to some bacteriophages. The findings point to variation in bacterial cell-surface features as one possible reason and highlight a challenge for phage therapy.
