Atlas links younger-onset colorectal cancer to a higher stromal share

A single-nucleus atlas of colorectal tumours found a higher stromal-to-epithelial ratio in younger patients with microsatellite-stable cancer. The study also identified age-associated RNA signals and differences in computationally inferred cell communication.

Study maps genetic clones and state changes in pancreatic cancer

A study of 62 pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas found genetically distinct clones within tumours and linked MYC amplification to shifts between tumour cell states. Experiments in murine and primary human models showed that reducing MYC reactivated classical gene-expression and immune-response programs.

BEACON aims to improve sample assignment in single-cell RNA sequencing

A bioRxiv preprint describes BEACON, a method that learns background count patterns to assign single cells to their samples in multiplexed sequencing. The authors report improved classification across human datasets and applications in cancer-cell experiments and protein–transcriptome profiling.
