UK Biobank study links more REM sleep with lower disease incidence
A study of 95,559 UK Biobank participants found that accelerometer-estimated REM sleep was associated with lower incidence of 83 diseases. The observational analysis also found that estimated minimum-risk sleep duration for most of the conditions with non-linear associations fell between 6 and 8 hours.
