Multi-vesicle release dominates at cortical synapses in vivo, preprint reports
A bioRxiv preprint reports that multiple neurotransmitter vesicles are commonly released at cortical synapses in living brains. The researchers link this multiquantal signalling to more reliable transmission and to behavioural-state-dependent changes in synaptic potency.
