A mouse study links peripheral immune activation to faster tau-related neurodegeneration
A Nature Neuroscience study found that peripheral dendritic cells can prime CD8 T cells in a way that worsens tau-mediated neurodegeneration in mice, suggesting that immune activity outside the brain can influence disease inside it.
