SPEAR maps RNA modifications in glioma tissue at microscopic scale

A bioRxiv preprint reports SPEAR, a method combining laser microdissection and mass spectrometry to measure RNA modifications in small regions of preserved tissue. In human diffuse glioma samples, the authors found lower levels of several methylated RNA modifications in higher-grade foci than in low-grade regions.

Study Maps Differences in ctDNA Release in Breast Cancer

A bioRxiv preprint reports that tumour-cell states, mutations, tumour architecture and immune signals were associated with differences in ctDNA release in ten patients with non-metastatic HR+/HER2− breast cancer. The findings offer a biological framework for understanding why tumour DNA detected in tissue may differ from what appears in blood.

A polymer model links ecDNA copy number to steadier oncogene contacts

A bioRxiv preprint uses a polymer-physics model to explain how ecDNA copy number may shape regulatory contacts in cancer-cell condensates. In the model, contacts in oncogene-associated regions grow stronger and become less variable as copy number increases.
